The JC STEM Early Career Research Fellowship for Translation and Application supports tomorrow’s STEM leaders through comprehensive and stable support, hands-on experience, and opportunities for international exchange. In partnership with the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong, the Fellowship catalyses both scientific discovery and professional growth for early career researchers who aspire to translate bold ideas into real-world impact.
What will you get?
Funding over the Fellowship period will encompass:
(1) Stipend: Fellows will receive a stipend of up to $530,000 per annum for 3 years. Upon successful completion of the Fellowship, an additional 15% gratuity will be offered.
(2) Academic Development and Exchange Allowance (up to $30,600 per annum for 3 years)
(3) Research Project Seed Funding (up to $300,000)
(4) Translational Research Industry Attachment Subsidy in an eligible local organisation (up to 50% of the salary, capped at $30,000 per month, for a maximum of 12 months, in addition to the three-year stipends)
Beyond financial benefits, the Fellowship offers exceptional opportunities for cross-cultural exchange and collaboration, contributing knowledge locally and globally.

Up to 10 Fellowships are awarded in each cohort. Each Fellowship lasts a maximum of four years, including an up to 12-month local industry attachment.
